Being lucky enough to win a fortune in a gambling game is a dream shared by many, who anxiously expect for this moment to come to abandon their jobs and have a quiet life, away from the stress of daily obligations. Nevertheless, there are those who think otherwise, such is the case of a lottery winner who left his job after becoming a millionaire but has decided to go back to work.

The story of Luke Pittard, a 25 year old Welshman, started in July 2006 when he was working as a manager in a restaurant of the McDonald’s chain, until luck touched him and he won 2.5 million dollars at the UK’s National Lottery. Despite this, 20 months later, the novelty of becoming a millionaire smoked away and Luke decided to go back to his job in McDonald’s.

Pittard and his girlfriend, Emma Cox, worked together at the restaurant when he became a millionaire, back then, both workers hanged up their aprons, got married and went to the Canary Islands to celebrate their honeymoon.

The millionaire employee declared that he went back to work because he missed his co-workers and he also said: “I must be the luckiest man. Not only because I won a fortune, but because I have recuperated my old job too”.
